UJEB – Primary Students
_50-chait-kids-talking.jpgThe North Eastern Jewish Centre proudly hosts weekly Jewish educational sessions run by UJEB – the United Jewish Education Board.
UJEB provides high quality formal and informal Jewish Education to Jewish students outside the Jewish school system to foster Jewish involvement and continuity.
The United Jewish Education Board (UJEB) was established by the Melbourne, East Melbourne and St Kilda Hebrew congregations in 1895 and has been educating the community’s children ever since.
In addition to classroom learning, UJEB also offers a variety of other educational programs, camps and community events during the year. For information, please see the UJEB website.

Mini Minyan
Mini Minyan is a fun way to introduce YOUR child or grandchild to the wonderful world of Synagogue Prayer.

NEJC’s Playgroup will begin again in early February 2012. There are some exciting changes planned and a new curriculum will be implemented which covers combining gross and fine motor skills with Jewish themes. We are also going to be rennovating one of the classrooms to be a state of the art toddler room. BGUN [Ages 9+]
Girls and boys aged 9 and over meet every Sunday at the NEJC. The group is lead by trained youth leaders from Betar (a Zionist youth movement) which joined together with the NEJC Nachas program in 2007 and has since been called BGUN – Betar Gives Us Nachas.

Bat Mitzvah Program
_31-bat-mitzvah.jpgThe NEJC Bat Mitzvah program for 2012 covers all the traditional Jewish life-cycle events and are taught under the guidance of Rebbetzin Sara Rabinn. The curriculum, has been carefully selected from one of the leading Jewish Educational organizations in the United States and is taught in weekly study sessions during school terms. The program includes workshops and other interactive activities designed to create a stimulating and holistic learning experience.
